This story is about two young and wonderful children. Their names are Samantha and Nellie O'Malley. The two children are orphans and live in a woman's back yard. They do not know how to survive and when Christmas arrives, they need a present. A present for...the woman that lets them stay in her back yard! What will it be?

Rachel and Kathleen Dan are twins - who live thousands of kilometers away from each other. They don't even know that they're twins until Kathleen moves with her father from her home in Vancouver to live in Toronto. They meet accidentally, and share a special sister relationship. Just as things are going well, disaster strikes, and Kathleen and Rachel must learn to cope with what life has dealt them.
